Swiss watchmaker Breitling is known for creating aviator chronographs of the highest degree of sophistication. The most successful watch produced by Breitling is the Chronomat. The Breitling Chronomat debuted around the middle of the last century.

It is the most popular watch from the Breitling Company, and it has witnessed a lot of transformation over the decades to become the number one purpose-made wrist watch for aviators. The original Chronomat was released in 1941, but the current models we see around debuted in 1984. Now there are different versions of the Chronomat including the Chronomat 44, Chronomat 44 Raven, and the Chronomat 44 GMT.

Chronomat 44:

The Chronomat 44 is the flagship of the Breitling chronographs, and the watch is an embodiment of performance and power. It comes in a big but handy 44mm case which houses the Manufacture Breitling Caliber 01 and has all the unique features desired by aviators.

It sports a self-winding mechanical and water resistance to a depth of 500 meters. The Chronomat 44 is a classic military grade chronograph, featuring a dial aperture calendar, a tricompax dial, as well as SupeLuminova indices and hands.

A cursive B representing Breitling appears on the side of the unidirectional bezel, and it has a power reserve of 70 hours minimum.

The Chronomat 44 sports two screw-locked crowns, cambered sapphire, and comes in four versions including the all steel, two-tone, steel with gold, and all gold. It also comes with different straps such as leather and crocodile rubber.

The Chronomat 44 is available at Breitling stores and retail outlets from $9720.

Chronomat 44 Raven:

The Chronomat 44 Raven is a special model of the famous Chronomat 44. It comes in a sporty case designed with enhanced optical and performance capabilities. Like the Chronomat 44, the Raven features the Manufacture Breitling Caliber 01, with a rotating bezel and orange rubber-inlaid numerals which create a clear and contrasting effect that is pleasing and sophisticated.

You can see the chronometer through the transparent sapphire crystal case back, while the black steel case and dial portray power, making them the ultimate chronograph for men who dare to beat the odds.

The bezel is unidirectional and comes with two screw locked crowns. The watch sports two types of strap including Ocean racer and Diver Pro.

The Chronomat 44 Raven is available worldwide and goes for about $7000.

Chronomat 44 GMT:

The Chronomat 44 GMT is Breitling’s simple to use traveler’s watch. With a pull of the crown, and a simple forward or backward turn, the wearer smoothly moves the watch across different time zones without any confusion in the display of the minutes.

Sporting the Manufacture Breitling Caliber 04, the Chronomat 44 GMT also comes with a bidirectional ratcheted bezel that offers the traveler a third time zone. Featuring a dial aperture calendar and self-winding mechanical, the chronograph provides water resistance to depths of 200 meters. It comes in three cases including steel, steel, and gold, and rose gold.

The Chronomat 44 GMT measures 44m in diameter and comes with different strap options such as leather, Pilot, Ocean Racer, and Diver Pro. It is on sale worldwide and goes for about $5,475.
