The new Breitling Superocean Heritage II is similar to its predecessor but is now available in two bigger case sizes at 42mm and 46 mm. The new Superocean features ceramic bezels, and a more contemporary dial but still retains the heritage of the 1957 Breitling Superocean regarding style and quality.

To make the Superocean sturdier, Breitling added a new steel bezel and an extremely hard cutting-edge ceramic ring that is highly shock-resistant and scratchproof. The new design gives the Superocean Heritage a sophisticated appearance in which the bezel and the dial appear to be one. In addition to this, the date aperture on the dial has been moved from the 3 o’clock to 6 o’clock position to give a more balanced design while the 12 o’clock now sports a luminescent pearl dot. The ceramic bezel of the Breitling Superocean Heritage II is available in black, blue, and brownish colors.

The redesigned Superocean is bigger and nicer than its predecessor. You can find machined cutout minute markers on the bezel which has a semi-glossy appearance, although it becomes matte in low visibility conditions.

Face:

The hour and minute hands have also been redesigned, although they still retain the unusual shape of the old Superocean. The arrow of the hour hand is now divided into two, and the base of the arrow tip is rounded. The minute hand now has a lozenge shape but has the same cone-shaped hour markers of the older Superocean Heritage.

Movement:

The technical characteristics of the Breitling Superocean Heritage II are one of the reasons why its loved by divers and aviators. The Superocean is equipped with Breitling’s Caliber B20, a COSC-certified automatic movement with an amazing 70-hour power reserve. The Caliber B20 was developed from the Tudor Caliber MT5612 and is the product of a partnership between Breitling and Tudor. A mirror polished solid screwed-in case protects the movement.
