McLaren’s Senna GTR Concept is the fastest thing with a roof ever built by the British company, apart from the F1s. This monster of a supercar comes with extreme performance characteristics that shame the original Senna in all ramifications.

At the unveiling of the Senna GTR during the last Geneva Motor Show, over 150 people expressed interest in buying the powerful car, however, only a maximum of 75 will be built.

The McLaren Senna GTR features breathtaking aerodynamics that allows it to produce 1000kg of downforce, making its performance on the race tracks better than even the veritable P1 GTR.

According to McLaren, the Senna GTR concept car is a prelude to what we should expect when the automaker begins to roll out the Senna Super Series model in the future.

The McLaren Senna GTR is powered by a monstrous 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engines similar to the one in the McLaren Senna, however, the Senna GTR has been optimized for the track to produce a minimum of 814bhp and torque exceeding 800Nm. The supercar is driven by a race-styled transmission, features Pirelli slick tires, a new double-wishbone suspension and an all-improved wheel design optimized for maximum performance on the race tracks.

The Senna GTR sports a sophisticated cooling system to keep the powerful engine in top shape during adrenaline-pumping dashes on the track. A set of Gurney flaps are positioned to evacuate heat away from the engine and radiators without reducing the vehicle’s aerodynamics.

The Senna GTR has a muscular build with a huge front-splitter and rear diffuser completing the car’s aerodynamic properties. Combined with a wider track, the rear diffuser and front splitter increase the big car’s road-holding abilities.

The frame consists of a carbon fiber Monocage III skeleton but it is still about 50kg lighter than the road Senna.

According to McLaren, the Senna GTR is faster than the standard Senna, which means it’s going to be super fast considering the fact that the regular Senna takes 2.8sec to make the zero to 62mph dash and 6.8sec to reach 124mph.

The Senna GTR will be missing airbags, an exhaust muffler, and a handbrake because road rules don’t apply to it, unlike the standard Senna.

The Senna GTR is a powerful car that offers performance characteristics of the Aston Martin Valkerie and Mercedes Project One, although it comes at almost half the price tag. We would really love to see the car on the road and tracks when it is finally released later in 2019. Only 75 samples of this model will be built by hand at McLaren’s Woking facility. The car is priced at around 1.2 million pounds.
